Moderator's Recommendations

Moderator’s Recommendations approved by the body are as follows:

Moderator, Pastor Kerry Tillmon's Original Text
  1. I recommend we that lift the moratorium on auxiliaries and once quotas are met auxiliaries may retain their balances.
  2. I recommend that Sister Mary Myers of Greater Mount Gilead B. C. become Treasurer.
  3. I recommend that Pastors’ & Ministers’ Conference be named, the Pastor Charles Carter, Sr. Pastors’ & Ministers’ Conference, (Pastoring or 20 or more years preaching.)
  4. I recommend that the Rainbow Night Celebration be named the Pastor Jimmie Flakes, Jr. Memorial Rainbow Night Celebration.
  5. I recommend that – Sister Ruby Hill, Deacon Nathan Kennie, and Deacon Ralph Collier be named Trustees Emeritus with all the honors to which they are entitled.
  6. I recommend that Sister Melva J. White and Deacon John Robbins be added to our Hall of the Faithful.
  7. In my Annual Message of 2001, I recommended that no part or parts of this property be sold or leased without a majority vote in any regularly scheduled meeting or without a 30-day written notice to all members registered in the previous Annual Session.

I want to recommend that we add an addendum which states: Notification must be made to all registered churches and individuals from the previous Annual Session. This additional language is an attempt to protect the assets of the Association. 

  1. I recommend that the Executive Board and Trustee Board be authorized to have discussions with the Mission Development Group of San Antonio, to discuss a possible collaborative effort.
  2. I recommend that establish a greeters’ Ministry with Sister Bernetta White serving as Coordinator.
  3. I recommend that Sister Alfreda Reese serve as our Security Coordinator.

What Was Decided

At our recent session, the body approved a set of Moderator’s Recommendations that clarify governance, honor faithful service, and strengthen ministry operations. Below is a clear record of each approved item, exactly as adopted.


Finance & Administrative Appointments

Treasurer

  • Sister Mary Myers (Greater Mount Gilead B.C.) is appointed Treasurer.

Standing Rule (Reaffirmed from the Moderator’s 2001 Annual Message)

  • No part or parts of Association property may be sold or leased without:
    • A majority vote in a regularly scheduled meetingor
    • A 30-day written notice to all members registered in the previous Annual Session.

New Addendum (Protection Language)

  • Notification must be made to all registered churches and individuals from the previous Annual Session.
  • Purpose: This additional language protects the assets of the Association by ensuring broad notification before any property action.
